Habitat Degradation

Habitats are the physical, chemical, and biological systems that support plants and animals. Habitat degradation occurs when natural or human-caused activities alter these places that make it so fewer species can live there. Degradation for identified fish, wildlife, or invertebrate species can be recognized through quantity, quality, or connectivity to food, cover, space, shelter, and/or water.
